Observe and learn about trees, plants, birds, and more with Adreon Hubbard. Adreon is a Maryland Master Naturalist and TreeKeeper who enjoys helping people notice, learn about, and steward the natural world around them.
Volz Park is a 16-acre urban forest conserved by NeighborSpace of Baltimore County. The walk will include light hiking (less than 1 mile) on mostly flat trails that may be uneven and wet in places. Binoculars are encouraged, but not required; there will be a few pairs to borrow. To increase the chance of seeing birds, please avoid wearing white, yellow, and other bright colors.
NeighborSpace’s mission is to enhance the livability of Baltimore County’s urban communities by protecting, restoring, and stewarding land for small parks, gardens, trails, and natural areas. NeighborSpace conserves 100 acres at 21 sites. They work with community partners to actively maintain and program these sites.
Volz Park is located between Bird River Road and Pulaski Highway, Middle River. The nearest address for map/GPS purposes is 9827 Ravenhurst Rd. Middle River, MD 21220.
Rain date is June 18th.
