Using Woody Plants in Native Yard Design with Heather Evans

Zoom meeting
Heather Evans of Design Your Wild will talk about how to use trees and shrubs to add structure to a native yard – creating privacy, dividing rooms, adding winter interest, blurring edges, and creating cooling shade. Trees and shrubs also generally support many times the number of native insects as wildflowers.
Heather Evans is a master gardener and author of the popular Substack newsletter, Design Your Wild. Heather brings to landscape design decades of experience managing design — and dozens of awards and cover stories to show for it. An accomplished educator, Heather developed the Design Management MPS curriculum for Pratt Institute and has taught at Harvard, NYU, and Parsons. She has a B.A. in philosophy and an MBA from Harvard.
