Learn how to get started with native plants in your own garden! Join us for a morning gathering at Patterson Park with multiple tables set up by knowledgeable members and experts to help guide you in your native plant journey.
Topics will include:
- Plant ID with hands-on instruction
- Sourcing native plants
- Getting started with garden design
- Bird friendly gardens
- Best books for getting started
- Invasive plant Q&A
- Making seeds balls with local ecotype seeds
Find us near the Audubon pollinator garden by the pond: view park map
Free street parking is available around the perimeter of the park. Note that there is another event happening at the park on the same day, so plan for extra time to find parking. There is no driving in the park.
Join us afterward for lunch at Mayuree Thai, 2318 Fleet Street (approximately 12:30 pm).
If you are interested in getting your hands in the soil and supporting another great organization, The Mid-Atlantic Audubon is hosting a clean-up of their Patterson Park gardens at 8:00am and will finish in time to join the Native Plants 101 event. Audubon event information
