12:00 PM - 02:00 PM
Private Residence
2303 Hidden Glen Dr, Owings Mills, MD 21117, USA
Join fellow native plant enthusiasts at the Wild Ones Greater Baltimore 3rd annual native plant share in Owings Mills! Look over plants, talk about native gardening, and get to know others who share a passion for gardening with native plants.
All are welcome—even if you are new to native gardening and do not have anything to share yet! We are happy to help new gardeners get started.
Bring a chair if you would like to hang out.
Guidelines:
1. Only bring healthy plants and seeds native to Maryland.
2. Bring bags or containers to bring your plants home.
3. Include any information you have available to share:
- Latin name (preferred) and common name
- Straight species or cultivar
- Plant description (height, bloom time, etc.)
- Preferred growing conditions
- Where the plant originated (local ecotype, native nursery, box store, etc.)
- Any other information of interest
4. Consider following best practices for new plants to reduce the spread of jumping worms and other unwanted pests.
- Suggestions for sharing new plants: provide bare root plants, wrapped in wet newspaper or paper towels and in plastic bags OR rinse roots and repot plants in freshly opened potting soil.
- When receiving plants with garden soil: remove soil and rinse roots before planting. Trash or solarize (in plastic) the soil rather than compost (if you do not have jumping worms present already). Learn more about jumping worms here.
