Lunch and Learn with Phyllis Joris of NeighborSpace
Wednesday, April 29, 2026
12:00 PM - 01:00 PM
Join us on your lunchbreak to learn about NeighborSpace: its work, current programs and projects, and how to get involved.
NeighborSpace’s mission is to enhance the livability of Baltimore County’s urban communities by protecting, restoring, and stewarding land for small parks, gardens, trails, and natural areas. NeighborSpace conserves 100 acres at 21 sites. They work with community partners to actively maintain and program these sites.
Phyllis Joris came to NeighborSpace as an avid native plant gardener with a passion for people and years of experience volunteering in her community. As the Executive Director, she has become an experienced project manager, grant-writer and strategic thinker, some of which is simplified by her background in mathematics. Phyllis is excited to roll out volunteer and community science programs and implement data-informed restoration. Her favorite workdays are those spent outdoors with community partners.
